Advance up loudoun valley and movement to falmouth, fredericksburg, burnside’s 2nd campaign, mud march. The flags of this regiment follow examples of pennsylvania units to the letter. Although made up of many irish american recruits the unit was to retain its state identity. . The original flags of the 116th infantry regiment are held in the civil war flag collection at the state museum in harrisburg, pennsylvania. This museum has loaned a flag marker to the irish national museum, in dublin, which bears the unit designation and 5th regiment irish brigade, fielded on a red and white guidon similar to that of an artillery battery.Room 630 main capitol building
