Description

This is a 1st national flag variant, with thirteen stars, the arrangement being the arch of the constitution. The flag is believed to have been made by general lees wife, mary custis and their daughters. Lee carried the flag as his headquarters flag from june 1862 until summer 1863. The flag now resides in the museum of the confederacy in richmond, virginia
