Description
Organized by the assignment of sheas texas artillery battery on december 10th 1861. The battery was reassigned to the 8th infantry regiment in february 1863battles: lavacathroughout its brief service this battery was confined to service within the district of texas. The flag is a western variant battleflag with thirteen stats. The central star is larger than the other stars, common in texas units. No honors or name designation. The original is believed to be located in the texas state library and archives in austin, texas.
