Description
The regiment was formed during march and, april 1862 at fort snelling minnesota. The unit was to see brief service against the sioux unrest before joining the army of the tennessee. The regiment was to see service in the western theatre battles: redwood, siege of corinth, booneville, iuka, corinth, grand gulf, jackson, vicksburg siege, red river campaign, lake chicot, nashville, mobile, spanish fort, fort blakely.The national flag of this unit complies with the standard design and, is adorned with regimental designation in gold stencil. The regimental flag has the state seal on the observe and, the reverse bears the national arms with regimental designation on the red scroll under the painted emblems.
