Description
These flags are typical examples of company or squadrons issued to union cavalry regiments. Made in the swallow tail fashion this flags was made from red and white materiel. The upper half was red bearing the gold letters u.S. (for regular cavalry) and, the lower portion in white bearing the letter in gold of the company number. This particular type of flag would see service in all theatres throughout the war. There are many examples of this particular type of flag within collection throughout america.
